We lean on proven deer-resistant choices — boxwood, ornamental grasses, catmint, salvia, ferns, hellebores and many others — and place more vulnerable plants where they're better protected. No plant is 100% deer-proof, but a smart palette dramatically cuts the damage.
Spring and fall are ideal — milder temperatures and steadier moisture help plants root in before summer heat or winter cold. That said, with proper watering we can plant through much of the growing season. We'll advise on the best timing for your specific project.

We space plants for how they'll look at maturity, so beds fill in beautifully over the next couple of seasons rather than becoming overcrowded. If you want a fuller look right away, we can plant a bit more densely or use larger stock — we'll talk through the tradeoffs.
Yes — good soil is everything. We amend and prepare the beds before planting and finish with mulch to lock in moisture, suppress weeds and give a clean, polished look. We also offer ongoing mulching as part of our maintenance services.
